Tara was in a parking lot with Rebecca Wilson (Nicole Pacent) and her replacement Evan Delray (Geoff Stults) towards the end of the outing, when they were attacked by a man in a white mask. Rebecca was the only one not hit.
WhileCriminal Minds: Evolutionseason 3, episode 7kicked off with the BAU in lockdown due to the suspicious package from the previous episode, the team quickly realized thatthere was someone new taking over Voit’s (Zach Gilford) networkfor his own gain. Many people were being kidnapped and tortured, and by the end of the episode, the BAU seemed to solve that part of the case.
However, the head of the network is still unknown, with Voit making it clear that he didn’t have a second-in-command when he ran the network. Someone has taken over and turned the network into foot soldiers, and Evan shared that Jeff Darcy, Voit’s new lawyer, had issues with the case. So, he, Rebecca, and Tara headed to meet with Jeff, only to end up being attacked in the parking lot. It looked like Evan was killed, and while she was shot, Tara seemed to still be alive in the immediate aftermath of it.

There are no signs that the actor is leaving beforeCriminal Minds: Evolutionseason 4. Production has already started on the season, andTyler has been spotted filming. This would suggest that she will make a full recovery from the current storyline, leading to her being more determined to hunt down the unsubs attacking people.

In fact, the BAU has managed to survive a lot worse, with JJ and Alvarez surviving an explosion inCriminal Minds: Evolutionseason 1. With this in mind,it wouldn’t be surprising to find out that Tara had survivedher two gunshot wounds, although it might be touch-and-go in surgery. This would mean Tara has to help the BAU from a hospital bed or at home while recovering.
There’s also a chance that Evan was involved, or it could even be linked to the Deputy AG, which is why he wanted Rebecca off the case in the first place, as nobody had an issue with their relationship before.
It would also open the question of who she can trust, as it is surprisingly convenient that Rebecca was the only one not shot by the masked man. It’s possible that she knew something was going to happen, and that’s why she was able to duck behind Tara and pull her out of the way. There’s also a chance that Evan was involved, or it could even be linked to the Deputy AG, which is why he wanted Rebecca off the case in the first place, as nobody had an issue with their relationship before.
Tara’s death wouldn’t serve anything inCriminal Minds: Evolution, so it’s more likely that she will survive. She may have seen enough to help track down the new leader of Voit’s group and bring the network down for good.
