Possibly coming this fall

Modern Warfare, the game that really kicked offCall of Duty‘s wild popularity nine years ago, looks to be getting a curtain call. According to a reservation card at Target for the soon-to-be-announcedInfinite Warfare, a remastering ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfareis also in development.

The leak comes via aphotothat was posted to the newly-formedInfinite Warfaresubreddit. The image indicates that there’s a legacy edition ofInfinite Warfareand that it’ll include the remaster ofModern Warfare. Nothing notes whether the remaster will launch alongside this year’sCall of Dutyor if it’ll be released at a later date.

Of course, none of this is official. This could be a hoax, but if it is, at least it’s a hoax that makes a good deal of sense. Given industry trendsandActivision trends, we’re probably due for this remaster. Activision will likely let us know sooner rather than later.
