Wordleis a browser-based word guessing game. Players can access the site daily for a new puzzle; there is no log in and the game is currently still free-to-play. This simple game pits players against a new five-letter word, giving them no clues to start with. Here’s how to play:

Head to the New York Times Games website.Wordlewas purchased by the NYTearlier in 2022, and it is still hosted on its Games site. While there are tons of copycats and clones out there, players will find the original there. All hints in this article will be about this version.
After getting to the right site, players will need to choose a starting word. It must be a five-letter English word. After choosing a good starting word with several commonWordleletters, type it into the site and press enter. The letters of the chosen word will then change colors in order to give some hints to the real answer. Green letters are correct and gray letters are wrong. Those that turn yellow are a correct but in the wrong place in the word.
Given these hints, players have just six total guesses to get to the answer. There is a new puzzle daily at midnight local time. Having only one puzzle per day is most of the reason why there are so manyWordlecopycats and clonesout there.
