Kathryn Bigelow’s first movie in eight years gets an awards-friendly release date in theaters and on Netflix. After making her directorial debut with the biker movieThe Lovelessin 1981, Bigelow made a name for herself helming several thrillers, such asNear Dark(1987),Blue Steel(1990),Point Break(1991),Strange Days(1995), andK-19: The Widowmaker(2002). She gainedcritical acclaim forThe Hurt Lockerin 2008 andZero Dark Thirtyin 2012, but it’s been eight years since her last movie,Detroit, was released in 2017.

Now, Kathryn Bigelow’s first film in eight years has received a release date.
