InMagic:TheGatheringlore, some of the most powerful life forms in the multiverse are planeswalkers, beings who are able to travel between planes and wield incredible magic. In-game, they’re represented by Planeswalker cards, which are often strong cards that see play across a multitude of formats. Today, Wizards of the Coast announced that two of the most powerful of these cards arebeing reprinted in Double Masters.
Double Masters is an upcoming expansion toMagic: The Gathering. It’s the latest installment in the “Masters” series of expansions, which are intentionally built to contain high-value reprints that are played in non-rotating formats like Modern, Vintage, and Commander.

The two Planeswalker cards that are being reprinted are Karn Liberated, and Jace, The Mind Sculptor. Karn is a colorless planeswalker that is a key component of a number ofpowerful decks in the Modern format. He has the ability to either rip through the opposing players' hand or destroy permanents they have on the board. However what makes him truly busted is his ultimate ability, which restarts the game, but with the Karn player at a huge advantage.
Jace on the other hand is a blue planeswalker who is powerful not because of his fantastic ultimate, but because of his ability to mess with an opponent’s draw. A player can activate Jace to look at the top card of an opponent’s library, and then choose to leave it on top or put it on the bottom. This means players can make sure their opponent is onlydrawing bad cards, which makes it incredibly hard for the opponent to win the game.
Players seem mostly happy with these reprints. As staple cards in a number of formats, they’ve become pretty expensive, and the reprints should help drop the price. And players will remain happy, as long asOko isn’t reprinted.
