Reddit user u/WhispyGaming posted an image on r/Mario of their cover art forSuper Mario Galaxy 3. The box art imagines what the game could look like if Nintendo were to release the game on the Nintendo Switch, something that many fans would love. WithSuper Mario Galaxycoming inside of thevery well-receivedSuper Mario 3D All-Stars, there are plenty of Switch owners who have now gotten a true taste of Mario in space and want more.
The turnaround between the originalSuper Mario Galaxyand its sequel was fairly quick; just about two and a half years. So it has been just about a decade since players launched Mario through gravity-defying obstacle course planets. Nintendo is always innovating and trying new things, so it may simply be that far too much time has passed for a true sequel.
Nintendo may be working on a follow-up toSuperMario Odysseyinstead, or something entirely new. WithBowser’s Fury(the experience that is a game within the newly releasedSuper Mario 3D Wold + Bowser’s Fury), Nintendo tested out ideas for a true open-worldMariogame. So it could be that Nintendo’s nextMarioadventure will be something akin to that.
