Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #3, written by Cody Ziglar and Deniz Camp and drawn by Jonas Scharf, reveals Prodigy’s horrific fate in the Ultimate Universe alongside the Maker’s Council’s Emmanuel Da Costa.

In an effort to become his universe’s smartest man alive, Emmanuel Da Costa bleeds Prodigy dry of four pints in one sitting. It was first revealed that Da Costa was doing this with his own son, Roberto, meaning that theUltimate Universe’s version of the X-Men’s Sunspotis also a target of his own father’s vampiric method of gaining power.
Earth-616’s Prodigy aka David Alleyne debuted in 2003 and becameone of the smartest X-Men characters, featured on teams like the New X-Men, X-Factor, and Young Avengers. However, Earth-6160’s unfortunate twist on the character makes him another victim of the malevolent Maker’s Council. Though Prodigy’s powers give him serious potential, he may not live long enough to see it through.
TheUltimate Universe’s Scarlet Witch and Quicksilverwere just featured inUltimates #14, and since Emmanuel mentioned doing the same procedure with Pietro’s blood, they could also be peers of this version of Prodigy. While the twins were rescued by the Ultimates, Sunspot and Prodigy are still stuck with a villain that’s leeching off their power and almost killing them.

Emmanuel andthe Ultimate Universe’s Emma Frost are seriously evil, working together and using young mutants as weapons or tools for their own sinister agendas. Prodigy and Sunspot are just two of many characters who could be systematically tortured by the Maker’s Council. With their powers temporarily siphoned by Roberto’s father, they may never get the strength to fight back.
Knowledge is power on Earth-6160, and as Prodigy’s is drained from him along with his will to live, the beloved hero has one of the worst fates of any Marvel character in the alternate timeline.
