Electronic Arts is building up to itsEA Play digital presentationon June 18. Fans are already speculating about what games EA might have to show for the PS5 and Xbox Series X. A new report claims that at least one anticipated title won’t be making an appearance. TheMass Effect Trilogyremaster said to be in development is unlikely to make an appearance during EA Play, according to one new report. Exactly why, or when it might make an appearance, is unknown.
The report comes from Venture Beat’s Jeff Grubb, who mentionsMass Effect Trilogyin a tweet regarding the upcoming EA Play. Grubb doesn’t claim certainty on the topic, but says that there’s a “strong likelihood” that theMass Effect Trilogyremaster will not be announced at EA Play next week. He insists that the bundle is still coming, but that it just won’t be a focus of this specific EA event.

Grubb doesn’t say exactly why he believes that, but it can be speculated. EA might be prioritizing titles that showcasePS5 and Xbox Series X graphics, which might not be theMass Effect Trilogy’s strength. EA could also be saving theMass Effect Trilogyannouncement to coincide with the reveal of a newMass Effectgame, which might not be ready yet. Or, perhaps the simplest reason, EA has a lot of other great games to show first.
To be clear, theMass Effect Trilogyremaster is not officially announced yet. It’s just been reported to be in development, specifically by Grubb over the past month. The report stems from an EA fiscal report in early May which stated thatan HD remaster was being made. What game this HD remaster wasn’t clarified, but Grubb said it was absolutely theMass Effect Trilogy.
More recently, Game Reactor reported that theMass Effect Trilogy remaster would be launching this holiday season. This report stemmed from supposed insider sources, but wasn’t corroborated.
Ultimately, the status of theMass Effect Trilogy, or whether it even exists, is up in the air. It could be announced during the EA Play event on June 19 or it could be revealed later.Mass Effectfansare likely content to be patient, given they’ve waited for some excitingMass Effectnews for some time now.
