Warner Brothers Entertainment and Monolith Games today released a trailer forThe Blade of Galadriel, its new story DLC forMiddle-earth: Shadow of War. The content itself is also available today as part of the expansion pass or individually for $14.99.
The story has players taking on the role of dual blade-wielding Elven assassin Eltariel, who has been tasked by Galadriel to take out the Nazgul - the new enemies forShadow of War’sNemesis System. An Eltariel skin can also be unlocked by playing the expansion content, and it can then be used in the main game.
For those not familiar withLord of the Ringslore, Galadriel rules over the forest kingdom of Lothlorien. In the movies and books, she provided aid to Frodo and the rest of the fellowship. She is very powerful, having the ability to foresee events that may come to pass. It is this power that foresaw events which lead to her sending Eltariel on her quest.
Along with the paid DLC, a free update for the game is also available today. According to developer Monolith, the update will tweak enemy behavior and tactics for both the main game and expansion. For instance,Orc captainsmay now choose to snipe from afar instead of engaging in melee combat, or they may burrow into the ground for a sneak attack.
The free update also brings with it a photo mode for capturing those brutal finishers, a stat page for players to view all of their accomplishments, field of view customization, and new orders that players can issue when trainingtheir own Orc army.
This content adds to the two new Orc Tribes, the Slaughter Tribe that released in November, and the Outlaw Tribe that came out in December. The tribes were also part of theexpansion passor sold individually for $14.99. The pass itself is $39.99 and gives those who purchase it access to all four DLCs, which have been $14.99 per add-on thus far.
