Kat McAllister Is MobLand Season 2’s Promising New Villain
The Harrigans will be coming head-to-head withJanet McTeer’sMobLandcharacter, Kat McAllister, in season 2. She was introduced partway through season 1, when Harry made an emergency call to the crime boss. While we don’t know much about Kat McAllister, we see that she’s connected with all the major crime rings and seemingly operating on a whole other level.
Kat McAllister has some control over every crime boss opposing the Harrigan family, as evidenced by her call to Jamie (Jordi Mollà), the leader of a Mexican cartel group, who halts his plan to murder Seraphina (Mandeep Dhillon) after receiving a call from Kat. That said,if Kat is as powerful as she seems, the audience needs more proof.
We get the sense that Kat is a bigger threat to the Harrigans than anyone else.MobLandneeds to deliver on that, showing how much of a danger she is.Unfortunately, the best way to do that is for McAllister to come for one of the Harrigans, taking out a centralMobLandcharacter, to show what Harry is up against.

Seraphina Could Be In Danger
Few characters are safe in the morally corrupt world that Harry and the Harrigan family operate in. That becomes abundantly clear inMobLandepisode 7, when Jaime murders Brendan Harrigan (Daniel Betts) with a chainsaw on the orders of Richie Stevenson (Geoff Bell). That said,MobLandseason 1 saw some shocking deaths, but Kat McAllister could do even more damage.
Kat seemingly has the power to take out the Harrigan matriarch or patriarch, Maeve or Conrad, and if she does, then we’ll finally know the extent of her prowess. Still,while itneeds to depict Kat’s dominance,MobLandwill probably hold off on killing someone like Conrad, Maeve, Harry, or Kevin(Paddy Considine), who are all at the story’s heart.
I fear that Seraphina could be in danger. She narrowly escaped death inMobLandseason 1, but Conrad’s daughter is in cahoots with Kat. While Kat seemingly thinks highly of Seraphina, the alliance could end poorly, or be a means for McAllister to sink her claws into the Harrigan family. Regardless, Harry should expect the worst from Kat McAllister.
