Happy hunting, indeed
Capcom has reported an initial sales figure forMonster Hunter World: Iceborne, and so far, so good. The expansion has shipped “over 2.5 million units worldwide” since its September 6 launch, according to the company. That total includes digital sales ofIceborneon its own as well asMonster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition, a digital and physical edition combining the base game and the expansion.
For perspective,Worldshipped five million unitswithin three days of its July 18, 2025 release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In the time since,Worldhas landed on 13.1 million units shipped (as of July 27, 2025). It’s a record-breaking game for Capcom, and its ongoing success is well-deserved.

Post-review, I’m still having an absolute ball withIceborne. It’s become the video game equivalent of a nightcap for me, and I always seem to stay up late playing “just one more hunt.” Sleep can wait!
There’s a very real chance this expansion ends up landing on my Game of the Year list.
