About a month ago, Capcom and CD Projekt Red revealed a partnership between the two that would provideMonster Hunter Worldwith a crossover event featuring none other thanThe Witcher’s Geralt of Rivia, and the announcement had originally slated the content to come in early 2019. Now, the companies have decided to give Hunters on the action-RPG’s console versions a better idea as to when they will be able to give the White Wolf-starring event a go.

According to Capcom,Monster Hunter Worldfans on PS4 and Xbox One should expect a free content update to arrive on July 13, 2025 that will bring the aforementioned crossover event withThe Witcherto the game. The publisher and developer also mentioned that while it won’t be coming to the PC port ofMHWjust yet, fans on personal computing platforms will be able to receive the materials “at a later date”.

For the uninitiated, this is far from the first instance ofMonster Hunter Worldbringing in other assets from other well-known franchises, as Capcom just recently incorporatedcontent inspired by Ubisoft’sAssassin’s Creed Originsthat let players don the garb of the 2017 release’s protagonist Bayek. As a matter of fact, Capcom’s action-RPG started this crossover tradition quite soon after it launched in January of last year by hosting an event allowing Hunters to take on a quest that would provide items to turn their in-game avatars into Aloy fromHorizon Zero Dawn.

Beyond the forthcoming crossover withThe Witcher,Monster Hunter Worldfans also have plenty more post-launch wares to look forward to, for it appears as if Capcom is looking to keep players flush with content for the foreseeable future. For instance, the publisher and developer has the action-RPG’s first premium expansion set for later this year, with the game’sIceborne DLC scheduled to drop in autumn 2019, and that’s likely just the tip of the iceberg.

Monster Hunter Worldis available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
