Summary

Multiversusis out now as a full-release free-to-play fighting game, andthe roster on releaseis pretty colorful and pretty big. There area lot of characters representing a lot of different shows, IPs, franchises, and more from all corners of the Warner Bros ‘multiverse’.

But, what about futureMultiversuscharacters? What characters do fanswant to see added to the game the absolute most, and why? There are a whole lot of Warner Bros. properties to choose from, so let’s go over some of the most popular picks and why they would work great inMultiversus.

Animaniacs

10Animaniacs

They Were the Icons of Warner Bros for Many 90s Kids

One of the mosthighly requested characters so far forMultiversushas to be the Animaniacs. The original series was a longstanding part of the Kid’s WB afternoon block of shows, and a large portion of the audience playingMultiversuswill have at least heard of theAnimaniacsbefore.

Additionally, they would be such interesting characters to include, as there are three of them (Yakko, Wakko, and Dot) which means their moveset would have to integrate using multiple characters at once like with Tom & Jerry or switching between the characters as something more akin to the Pokemon Trainer in theSmash Brosgames. Overall, because of how easily theAnimaniacsbroke the fourth wall and interacted with celebrities, other characters from other shows, and more during each episode, Player First Games would have a whole lot of material to choose from when it comes to their move list.

Powerpuff Girls and Mojo Jojo

9Powerpuff Girls And/Or Mojo Jojo

Townsville & Mojo Jojo are Technically Already in the Game

Along the same vein of a ‘group’ fighter like the Animaniacs,The Powerpuff Girlsare another obvious one for them to eventually include inMultiversus, especially since the full-release version of the game actually has a stage set in Townsville. If they do include a representative from this series, The Powerpuff Girls themselves are pretty likely, but people are also expecting villains like Mojo Jojo as well, since he’s the main ‘stage hazard’ in the Townsville stage.

If and when they are brought into the game as newcomers, it’s very likely that the girls would actually be separate characters if they were brought in rather than a ‘group’ fighter or one fighter with various costumes that would change their appearances between Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup.

Johnny Bravo

8Johnny Bravo

So Much Potential For Uniquely Hilarious Moves

A lot of the old Cartoon Network 90s reps are going to be on this list, as a lot of 90s kids are playing and lovingMultiversusso far.Johnny Bravois another character that would be just hilarious to bring into a fighting game. While Johnny, visually, is sort of designed to look buff and capable, anyone who has seen the show knows he’s anything but that. Not only would it be great for Johnny to show up so people can hear his hilariously absurd Elvis-like voice again, but his moves would also likely be incredibly interesting as well.

In his show, Johnny Bravo was almost always hitting on women, and this usually resulted in him being beaten up by said women, their friends, their boyfriends, and so on. So, Johnny’s moveset could take this into account and have a lot of his moves be something like him running to approach a girl, only to get hit by her and launched backward, with the run and the launch both functioning as attacks that could hit opponents.

Mordecai & Rigby

7Mordecai & Rigby

Longtime Highly-Requested Newcomers

This is another one that’s been constantly mentioned on Reddit and in Discords ever since the days of the Open Beta, Mordecai and Rigby fromThe Regular Show. These two characters in general are incredibly beloved, which makes sense given that the show had over 240 episodes, and they would both make for fantastic characters either as a pair or as individual fighters.

In general, it seems like people are actually pretty conflicted on whether they want these two as a two-for-one character or as individual characters, though the game is designed with 2v2 in mind, so even having them as their own fighters would still work since a 2s team could be Mordecai and Rigby, thereby completing the pair in another way. There’s a whole lot they could do with their moveset, but honestly, it’s the taunts that fans of the series would probably be the most excited about seeing.

Lumpy Space Princess

6Lumpy Space Princess

It’d Just Be so Funny

There are already twoAdventure Timereps inMultiversuswith both Finn and Jake, but with a show as beloved asAdventure Timewith as many characters as it has, there’s obviously more coming somewhere down the line. The most obvious choices are Princess Bubblegum, Marceline the Vampire Queen, or even Ice King, but a surprising amount of people really want Lumpy Space Princess in the game as well.

While Lumpy Space Princess doesn’t quite have as much easy material to come up with unique attacks for, she would be an absolute riot to see in the game and the ones who did commit to playing her would likely be incredibly dedicated to getting good with her. Just imagine aMultiversustournament at Evo or something, and the winner is Lumpy Space Princess, how funny would that be?

Daffy Duck and Duck Dodgers

5Daffy Duck

A Different ‘Flavor’ of Chaos Than Bugs Bunny

With Bugs Bunny already in the game, who else to add but his lovable cohort/rival Daffy Duck? Both Bugs and Daffy sort of fill the same ‘niche’ of fighter in that they’re bothLooney Tunesfighters that use a lot of slapstick gags. However, Daffy does have some other avenues he could go down for his moveset, such as his entireDuck Dodgerspersona, or they could even use Porky Pig for some of his moves since the two are often a duo together when on screen.

This is all to say that theLooney Tuneswell of characters is far from being dried up when it comes to Multiversus and basically any representative from theLooney TunesIP will have plenty of material for the developers at Player First Games to look through to integrate them as their own unique fighter.

Wil E Coyote and Road Runner

4Will E. Coyote

Acme Slapstick to the Max

Rounding out theLooney Tunesinclusions is Wile E. Coyote, one of the most iconic reps from the IP and technically an actual villainousLooney Tunescharacter. Wile E. Coyote is best known for constantly trying (and failing) to hunt down the Road Runner and will use all sorts of Acme-branded weapons and inventions to do so. Essentially, if they put him intoMultiversus, they’d be able to basically use any weapon or object for his attacks as long as they slapped the Acme branding on there.

That said, out of all of his gags, the ones that typically come to mind the most when people think of Wil E. Coyote are dynamite, rockets, giant slingshots, boulders, and paint (AKA painting a ‘fake tunnel’ onto a rock wall) so hopefully if he does ever come to the Multiversus roster these gags will be integrated in his move list in some way.

Ben 10

3Ben 10

Just so Many Aliens to Choose From

As far as characters with a whole lot of creative freedom for fighting game movesets go, Ben 10 otherwise known as Ben Tennyson is probably near the top of the list thanks to his Omnitrix. The amount of different aliens with unique abilities and incredibly unique appearances that Ben has turned into over the course of his multitude of seasons and series. Frankly, theBen 10IP is one of Cartoon Network’s longest-running franchises ever and it’s obvious that he would be an incredibly beloved and interesting inclusion intoMultiversus.

Quite frankly, the main problem that the developers at Player First Games would face if they broughtBen 10intoMultiversusis simply deciding which of his many different alien forms to choose from for his moveset.

Samurai Jack

2Samurai Jack

It Should Be Obvious Why

Samurai Jackis, likeBen 10, probably one of the most obvious characters to include in theMultiversusroster out of everyone. Anyone who grew up watching Cartoon Network is familiar withSamurai Jack, and almost anyone who is familiar with the character or show is a fan of it as well.Samurai Jackis just such an iconic series and he’s such an iconic character it would be criminal not to include him or at the very least Aku as a fighter.

Granted, he would be a pretty typical ‘sword character’ like a lot of the fighters inSmashare and like Finn the Human is, but there’s a lot they could do to get creative with his moveset thanks to the hundreds of different places that Jack has been to over the course of his multiple series.

Godzilla Vs King Kong

1Godzilla And/Or King Kong

Because the Game Needs More Giants

And finally, let’s talk about some big characters. At the time of writing this,Iron Giant is really the only ‘giant’ characterinMultiversus. One could argue thatJason Voorhees is also in that category, but honestly, he’s pretty far from IG when it comes to size. So, it would be nice to include some other fighters in the roster that are of equal size, and who better to include than either Godzilla or King Kong?

These are both IPs/franchises that Warner Bros has access to, and both of them would be incredible inclusions that fans of bothMultiversusand theKing Kong/GodzillaIP would be ecstatic about. Honestly, why choose only one? Both should be characters in the game eventually, as being able to have King Kong and Godzilla as a team in 2s sounds amazing for the people playing them and absolutely miserablefor their opponents who would have to deal with them.
