Untamed’s castis headed up by Bana, with Sam Neill, Rosemarie DeWitt, Lily Santiago, and Wilson Bethel, and is penned by writers Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith.Originally conceived as a miniseries, the success of the show could see it become a long-term streaming hit for the streaming giant.

Just shy of two weeks after it debuted on the platform,Varietyhas brought word thatNetflix has renewedUntamedfor season 2. The mystery thriller has been dominating Netflix since its July 17 premiere, bringing in 24.6 million views within a few days of its premiere, though it’s not yet been reported what the next season of the Bana-led show will explore. What This Means For The Future Of Untamed
It Will Be Interesting To See The Direction Season 2 Will Take
The conclusion toUntamedseason 1 saw Kyle finally departing Yosemite, after coming to terms with his son’s murder, solving the case of Lucy Cook’s death, and losing his friend Paul, who shoots himself after Kyle discovers his role in Lucy’s death. The implication is that Kyle leaves in pursuit of a fresh start, and perhaps a “normal” life among civilization.
However,Untamedestablishes Kyle as being very much at home in the wilderness, and he may struggle to adapt to life outside the park. This presents an interesting opportunity forUntamedseason 2to explore, andthe show could find Kyle returning to the park, or he could use his unique skill to help solve urban crimes.
Our Take On Untamed Season 2
The Show Could Focus On A Completely Different Story
Being that the show was originally supposed to be a miniseries, it might be the case thatseason 2 will move forward with a completely different cast, aside from Bana. While it seems unlikely thatUntamedwill become an anthology series, there’s a good chance that the new season could focus on a completely different story and case.
Untamed’s twist endingwas a clever slow-burn that impacted Kyle on a personal level, and season 2 could try for something similar.
There is a big scope for a story with a show like this, particularly if the second season is also set in a National Park.Untamedcould become a long-term Netflix hit, and much will depend on the direction season 2 takes.
