Ubisoft led its press conference on Monday with a brand new trailer forBeyond Good and Evil 2, the game thatsurprised everyoneat the end of its 2017 conference. The trailer was followed by an announcement of a program that will allow the community to collaborate with Ubisoft to produce content for the game.
The trailer had a look at all of the characters that were featured in the reveal trailer, but it took a significantly darker tone. The trailer was primarily focused on the cast trying to survive a disaster on their spaceship, and introducing some of the supporting members of the crew.

At the end of the trailer, Ubisoft re-introduced Jade - the main character of the originalBeyond Good and Evilgame. There wasn’t much word as to the details of her involvement in the sequel, but she seems to beplaying a major roleinBeyond Good and Evil 2’s narrative.

Beyond Good and Evil 2was described in the conference as a “space opera,” and that ideology seems to shine through in the latest trailer. From getting a huge collection ofscience fiction imageryto getting to know some of the engineering crew as they scramble to keep their ship together.
It was announced after the trailer released thatBeyond Good and Evil 2would be an open-world game where characters get the opportunity to create their own characters, exploring a world set before the one shown in the original game.
This seems to paintBeyond Good and Evil 2as a game that, if nothing else, will be painting a picture of how Jade became who she was in the first title. With other returning characters like Pey’j, there will likely be a focus on fleshing out the backgrounds of other characters as well.
Beyond Good and Evil 2is in development for unspecified platforms.
