Call of Duty: Black Ops 7is poised to shake up what has been a relatively big year in gaming, when it is expected to launch in November, like many other franchise entries. But it may not be a satisfying launch for everyone.

Accordingto a leak from Dealabs Magazine, it appears thatCall of Duty: Black Ops 7will not be available on a singleplatform at launch. Although we hope that’s not the case, the choice is highly logical, given Activision’s previous history.

Black Ops 7 Won’t Be On Switch 2 At Launch

According To A Leak

Based on the leak,Call of Duty: Black Ops 7will not be arriving on the Switch 2 platform this year, when it launches. That launch, by the way, appears to be scheduled for August 10, 2025, based on prior leaks. This is to be expected by many fans, as Activision has had a troubled history supporting Nintendo platforms in general.

Although the publisher hasexperimented with portable editions of theirCall of Dutygames (lacking parity with the full PC and console versions),very few “mainline"Call of Dutygameshave made it to Nintendo consoles, especially lately.Call of Duty: Black Ops II(2012) andGhosts(2013) were released quite a long time ago.

If this news is getting you down, know thatwe’re less than a week away from the reveal eventforCall of Duty: Black Ops 7. Only then will we receive official confirmation from Activision regarding platform proliferation, as well as the final launch date. Hopefully, we’ll also get some information on the game’s systems andany potential franchise improvements.

Black Ops 7 Will Be Fully Revealed At Gamescom Next Week

We’ll Get Full Confirmation Then

Althoughwe’ve had a few teasersand mild reveals forCall of Duty: Black Ops 7so far this year, the full reveal will be at Gamescom. Specifically, we can expect it at the Gamescom Opening Night Live ceremony, which kicks off on August 19 at 2PM ET. There, we’ll learn more about the game, and we’ll undoubtedly get a full platform reveal.

For now, even without the leak,Call of Duty: Black Ops7’sabsence fromthe Switch 2 platform is a safe bet. It’s still relatively new, and while Activision could end up supporting it in the future (and with its annualCODiterations down the line), it makes sense that it wouldn’t be supported at launch.
