As mostFallout 76fans are well aware, Bethesda’s online-only multiplayer title for the post-apocalyptic RPG franchise has had a pretty rough launch, especially after having receiveda plethora of negative user reviews. The game has seen its fair share of bugs and glitches in the West Virginian Wasteland, and the publisher and developer is steadily working on delivering fixes in a prompt manner. However, to implement them, players will need to be prepared for a big download, as the latest patch is 48.4 GB on consoles, with reports of it being around 15 GB on PC.

This latest patch updatesFallout 76to version 1.0.1.8, 1.0.1.9, and 1.0.1.14 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC respectively. Bethesda has previously mentioned the performance and stability issues it planned on tackling, but the patch also has some other noteworthy changes that should make the game run more smoothly overall and reduce the amount of immersion-breaking moments. A few of the bigger changes can be found in the list directly below, but those who wish to see the full patch notes can do soright here.

For those unaware, the size of this most recent update forFallout 76on consoles is almost as large asits Day One download patch, which weighed in at a hefty 54.641 GB, which is bigger than the actual game file itself. Obviously, the size of the latest patch is so big due to the amount of fixes required, but hopefully, for the sake of both players and Bethesda, in-game issues will become less frequent over time and cause subsequent updates to diminish in size.

Taking all of this into account,Fallout 76fans had prepared for bugs at launch, but it’s safe to presume that many weren’t expecting such a glut of them right out of the gate. That compounded with the fact that there have already been severalreports of players cheatingin the game definitely doesn’t cast a favorable light on the title. With any luck, Bethesda will be able to nip the majority ofFallout 76’s most glaring problems in the bud as soon as possible.

Fallout 76is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
