As 2021 begins to set in and the video game industry shifts back into gear after the launch of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, major gaming events are beginning to return, withrevivals of Summer Game Fest and E3announced for 2021. On top of these, Epic Games has even announced its plans for a spring games showcase scheduled for tomorrow. Joining the list of returning showcases from 2020 isNew Game Plus Expo, the showcase dedicated to providing updates on upcoming Japanese games, which will be returning on March 4th, 2021.

Last year’s New Game Plus Expo aired on June 23rd, 2020, and featured publishers such as NIS America, Natsume, Inti Creates, Atlus, Koei Tecmo, SNK, Arc System Works, and more. While the showcase didn’t feature any major game announcements, it did provide updates on some titles that fans were eagerly anticipating at the time, and localizations that had yet to be confirmed. The showcase was met with some mixed reception from fans who expected more from some of its publishers, but there were some neat announcements such asBloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2.

New Game Plus Expo is slated to return on March 4th, 2021, and this time Aksys Games, Arc System Works, GungHo Online Entertainment, Grasshopper Manufacture, Idea Factory, Inti Creates, Koei Tecmo, and NIS America will be featured in the showcase, among others. The showcase will air on Twitch at 8 am PT.

Given the inclusion of Grasshopper Manufacture’s owner GungHo, it is possible the studio is ready to announce a release date forNo More Heroes 3. NIS America is also planning to releaseDisgaea 6this summer, which has yet to receive a solid release date. Koei Tecmo also recently stated thatNiohdeveloper Team Ninja is planning a new game announcement in 2021, which we could see teased at this event. Arc System Works is also gearing up for the release ofGuilty Gear Striveon April 9th, so another character is likely to be revealed at this event.
