The anticipated new hybrid healer, Moira, is now live inOverwatchon all platforms. Blizzard announced her arrival through theOverwatchofficial Twitter account along with a condensed version of her previously released introduction trailer.
It didn’t take long for Moira to be put through her paces, as she has only been available on theOverwatchPTR for one week. What’s more, players didn’t know she even existed until Blizzardsurprised audiences at BlizzCon 2017, which was a mere two weeks ago. It’s clear that Blizzard has done much of the balancing legwork ahead of her release if the company is confident with her going live after such a short stint with players. Either way, she’s here and she’s definitely going to mix things up inOverwatch.
Moira is a Talon operative who can both dole out healing and damage in massive amounts. She is a healer with fantastic offensive capabilities, so she’ll always be somewhat close to the front lines. If not, then she lets her orbs do the dirty work for her. Moira’s Ultimate is a beam that simultaneously heals friends and obliterates foe. She is best described as a hybrid healer, and truly the first of her kind inOverwatch.
To get to know this new character better, Blizzardreleased a story trailerthat delves into Moira’s past, and her relationships with other characters. This includes one very important moment in Reaper’s past that fans have long been curious about.
Moira’s release shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to those paying attention to the news this week. Blizzard announced another free weekend inOverwatchthat starts November 17. With the announcement was a post on the game’s official blog, which stated that 26 heroes would be available to play. Given that only 25 characters were available at the time of the announcement, fans speculated thatMoira would be releasedthis week. Those clever blokes are surely patting themselves on the backs right now for that catch.
Overwatchis out now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
