As indicated on theTomb Raiderwebsite after the full game reveal in April, today at Microsoft’s E3 briefing, a newShadow of the Tomb Raidercinematic was revealed. At the beginning of the year, Square Enix announced that it would be releasing the next chapter in Lara Croft’s journey that promises to be themost difficultTomb Raidergame to date.

The newShadow of the Tomb Raidercinematic gives more details surrounding Lara Croft’s story in the latestTomb Raidergame. The trailer shows images from the awe-inspiring Mayan landscapes that Lara will visit in the game, as well as the spectacular interiors of some of the tombs. The cinematic also reveals that inShadow of the Tomb Raider, the artifact that Lara is searching for and protecting from Trinity, is an ancient dagger that unleashes great chaos. The trailer also reveals a few new faces that will be accompanying Lara on her journey, as well as a mysterious new villain that “wants to alter the course of humanity”.

Square Enix has also promised to release a gameplay trailer forShadow of the Tomb Raiderat E3 this year, which should give more details surrounding the combat and weapons in the game. From thepromotional material released so farthough, and from this latest cinematic, it is clear that the game looks great and should offer a worthy conclusion to Lara Croft’s journey that started in 2013 with theTomb Raiderreboot.

The game and itsvarious special editionsare available for pre-order now, andTomb Raiderfans that pre-order the game will gain early access on September 12th of this year, two days before theShadow of the Tomb Raiderrelease date. PlayStation and PC fans are also happy to know thatShadow of the Tomb Raideris not a timed Xbox exclusive, like its predecessor,Rise of the Tomb Raider, was.

Shadow of the Tomb Raiderwill be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on September 14th of this year.
