Noah Wyle recently addressed the departure of Tracy Ifeachor fromThe Pittseason 2 and explained that Dr. Heather Collins won’t be on the show simply due to a story decision. Noah Wyle and Tracy Ifeachor were among the most prominentcast members ofThe Pittseason 1. While Wyle is one of thecharacters returning inThe Pittseason 2,Ifeachor won’t be inThe Pittseason 2.

In an interview withDeadline,Noah Wyle said that Tracy Ifeachor’s departure was not due to any behind-the-scenes drama but a simple decision of how to handleThe Pittseason 2’s story. He also added that he has a good relationship with Ifeachor and that they’ve been enjoying speculation about the reason behind her departure.

“I mean, we’ve all been sort of amused by the speculation about what everybody thinks might be a reason. But truthfully, we loved the actress [Ifeachor]. We enjoyed having her with us very much. She’s gotten really big, and we will miss her.”

While Wyle has confirmed the reasoning behind Tracy Ifeachor’s departure fromThe Pittseason 2,there’s still no word on how Collins' absence will impact the show’s plot. Her relationship with Robby, for example, likely won’t get much development in the second season, nor will her active attempts to get pregnant. Then again, the creators ofThe Pittcould have a surprise in store for viewers.

What Noah Wyle’s Comments On Tracy Ifeachor’s Departure Mean For The Pitt

Collins Could Easily Return In The Pitt Season 3 Now That We Know Ifeachor Left Amicably

Noah Wyle’s comments don’t offer up any concrete information about the future ofThe Pittthat we didn’t already know, but they are still a hopeful sign for Collins' future. Now that it’s clear that Tracy Ifeachor still has a good relationship with Wyle and the creators ofThe Pitt, her eventual return looks even more likely than ever.

For whatever reason, it seems that Collins just didn’t fit into the story ofThe Pittseason 2. It’s clear that there’s no hard feelings between Ifeachor and the creators, though, andifThe Pittseason 3 does have a way to feature Collins, she’ll likely be invited back. The Pittseason 2 may even have a built-in way to explain Collins' absence while also setting up her eventual return.

Our Take On Tracy Ifeachor’s Departure From The Pitt Season 2

While Collins Will Be Missed, I’m Confident The Writers Of The Pitt Know What They’re Doing

While it is nice to know that Tracy Ifeachor and the cast and crew ofThe Pittremain friends, I’m more interested in what the show has in store.I like Collins a lot, and I think her absence is going to be keenly felt inThe Pittseason 2. She won’t be a stabilizing force for PTMC anymore, and we won’t get her tender moments with Robby again.

As much as I’d like to see Collins again,I’m still supremely confident that the writers ofThe Pittknow what they’re doing. They didn’t write Collins out of the second season for no reason. They either didn’t have a great story for her, didn’t have time for her with everyone else’s drama, or are saving her for something bigger down the line. In any case, I’m sure they made the right call.

Collins is a fascinating character, Ifeachor is a great actress, and The Pitt isn’t going to abandon one of its best assets after a single season.

I’m also fairly confident that we’ll see Tracy Ifeachor again. Noah Wyle went out of his way to quell these rumors and confirm that he’s still friends with Ifeachor. It’s certainly not guaranteed, but I thinkThe Pittwill have Ifeachor back sooner or later. Collins is a fascinating character, Ifeachor is a great actress, andThe Pittisn’t going to abandon one of its best assets after a single season.
