The negative feedback towardsMonster Hunter Wildshas been staggering recently, but this has led to faster responses from the development team, resulting in a surprise update that alleviates a major concern surrounding the game. In both Title Updates, there were strange restrictions for certain content that prevented me from taking on truly unique challenges. Now, those challenges are always present, making them far more available for all players.

The multitude ofperformance issues on PCmakesMonster Hunter Wildsdifficult to play sometimes, but that doesn’t mean its content has been lacking. Across the course of the free Title Update 1 and 2,Capcom has addressed many fan concerns over monster difficulty, multiplayer hub spaces, and more. The inclusion of another free patch not only releases update features early, but also adjusts existing systems to be more accessible.

I’ll Never Miss Arch Tempered Monsters Again Now That They’re Permanent

Elevated Monster Difficulty Now Remains Forever Within The Game

The big change from Capcom’s sudden patch is thatArch Tempered monsters no longer disappear after a few weeksas they did before. In Title Update 1, Arch Tempered Rey Dau was a monster you could only face in a limited-time event quest. Similarly, Arch Tempered Uth Duna was scheduled to only have a short time of availability dedicated to it as well, going away once Title Update 2 had run its course.

Arch Tempered Rey Dau has had multiple windows where players can hunt it in both Title Update time periods. However, both of these were short-lived, giving players only a small amount of time to farm the monster’s quest for unique gear sets.

Now,both Arch Tempered monsters will become permanent additions toMonster Hunter Wilds, staying in the game indefinitely once released. This is a huge relief for me, as I missed both windows for Arch Tempered Rey Dau due to my own busy schedule. Since I really wanted to make a Thunder Resistance armor set using AT Rey Dau’s Gamma gear, I now have all the time in the world to farm the monster’s quest whenever I feel ready.

The removal of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) is a huge relief for fans, who were concerned that Arch Tempered monsters would only ever appear sparingly as the game’s life cycle continued.Starting at the Flamefete Festival on Jul 08, 2025, Arch Tempered quests will stay, with Capcom promising to consider lifting the time restrictions on several other missions in the game.

Arch Tempered Monsters Provide Better Challenges & Gear

Greater Difficulty Leads To Better Armor And A More Rewarding Grind

One of the biggest disappointments behind Arch Tempered monsters is that they were fantastic, but not around for long. This change is huge because Arch Tempered monsterssolve the difficulty problem ofMonster Hunter Wilds, providing great challenges for experienced hunters itching for a good fight. Similar to 8-Star Tempered monsters,Arch Tempered beasts hit harder, have greater health, and sometimes have more mechanicsyou have to learn to overcome.

Arch Tempered monsters are also unique to 8-Star Tempered beasts due to how they each have unique gear. Each Arch Tempered monster has parts that make up excellent armor sets, with rare skills you’re able to only get by crafting at least four of the five pieces of that gear. Arch Tempered Rey Dau, for example, has some of the best gear for Maximum Might and Stun Resistance, two excellent skills that can amplify some gear builds.

Gamma armor sets from Arch Tempered monsters are also known to have abundant gem slots for skill decorations. There are at least four three-slot gem sections in the full Arch Tempered Rey Dau set, with other AT monsters likely to be similar as they arrive in other Title Updates.

Before, you only had roughly a week or two to face Arch Tempered monsters to gather enough parts for their unique armor. Due to their challenge, it would take a long time to grind for certain monster parts you were never sure you were going to get from a carving or quest reward drop. The ability to face Arch Tempered monsters puts the grind on your terms, making it something you can pursue whenever you want.

Better Challenges Are No Longer Offered To Me For A Limited Time

More Difficult Fights Are Available At All Times

The retention of Arch Tempered quests is such a huge time-saver for someone like me, who always wants to fight the biggest and baddest monsters I can. 8-Star Tempered monsters become abundant when you reach a high enough Hunter Rank, but they are still mainly available through Investigations rather than quests.Through permanent Arch Tempered monsters, I can just post a quest to challenge them at any time.

Not having to worry about missing out, I now have far more opportunities to take on Arch Tempered monsterswith friends in multiplayer. This helps skip the grind through a more flexible schedule for everyone involved, instead of everyone having to coordinate to play before the Arch Tempered quests disappear.

Overall, this change is an extremely positive one that reflects the development team’s dedication to listening to what fans what. Although there are plenty of other problems inMonster Hunter Wildsthat should be addressed, this kind of response to feedback bodes well for the game’s future.
