In a recent teaser on theOverwatchTwitter account, Blizzard announced the arrival of the Chinese Lunar New Year event inOverwatch, this year featuring the Year of the Dog. The event is set to kick off on February 8. It is currently unknown which heroes will receive new skins and emotes in this event, but if the Year of the Rooster event is any indication, every hero will receive some cosmetics this time around.

Much like the other yearlyOverwatchevents, theskins and other cosmeticsfrom last year’s event will likely be available at a cheaper price, while the new items will be at full price. Last year’s theme wasJourney to the West, which added fancy new skins for Zenyatta, Winston, Reinhardt, and Roadhog, all based on the classic Chinese novel. This year may have a theme as well, though Blizzard has made no announcements in that regard. Mei also received several additional cosmetics, since she is the hero from China inOverwatch.

? Wishing you prosperity in the Year of the Dog! ?

Last year’s event also introduced the Capture the Rooster game mode, which is theOverwatchversion of capture the flag. It is currently unknown if this event will be returning on February 8, or if players will have access to an entirely new game mode. Whether it’s the return of Capture the Rooster or a new game mode, players will likely see a lot of Lijiang Tower

TheOverwatchdevelopment team has been adding plenty of new content to the game lately. Recently, the new map,Blizzard World, was added to the game, as well as a slew of new cosmetics for every hero, so some players may be a bit short on credits to get the new skins coming with Year of the Dog.

Regardless of what the new event brings on February 8, it is sure to add plenty of new items forOverwatchfans to chase after in theirloot boxes. Last year’s event cosmetics were flashy and exciting, and Blizzard never disappoints with their cosmetics for limited time events, so Year of the Dog should be a hit for everyone.
