TheOverwatchteam sure knows how to kick off an event in style, judging by the three huge reveals that game director Jeff Kaplan has made to the game’s fans so far. As he took to the stage, Jeff was joined by the iconic voice of Reinhardt, Darin De Paul, who introduced a brand new Blizzard cinematic following the German Crusader’s originsback in Eichenwalde.

This time round, the spectacularOverwatchanimation lasts for a little over seven minutes and features a flashback to when Reinhardt and his mentor Balderich von Adler fought their final battle together back in the German castle town. Fans get their very first look at a younger, more cocky Reinhardt and witness the power of the Crusaders as the team defends their people from an invading Omnic force.

The fresh take on one ofOverwatch’s most beloved characters is certainly interesting to see, and the transformation of Reinhardt into the hero he is in the present day all begins with this new animation “Honor and Glory.” As usual, the game’s online fan-base has already begun demanding a Young Reinhardt skin and it wouldn’t be too surprising to see if Blizzard delivers on this front.

The developer has already announced abrand new healer characterby the name of Moira, who is the first Talon support character to join the game, and a new Blizzard-inspired theme park map is also on the way. These aren’t the only reveals that will be made forOverwatchat BlizzCon this year, however, and Jeff teased another special surprise coming as the event progresses.

The game director and vice president of Blizzard Entertainment is likely hinting about the giant golden loot box which will be opened live on stage for all attendees to witness on the event’sOverwatchstream. Fan who have purchased their Virtual Ticket will be able to stream the event live, as well as gain access to anexclusive skin for Winstonand new content for several other Blizzard titles.

Overwatchis out now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
