Split tunneling is disabled in the latest version of ExpressVPN for Windows (12.73.0). This is a temporary change, and it will be reversed after ExpressVPN patches a newly discovered DNS bug. Other versions of the ExpressVPN app still support split tunneling. The DNS vulnerability was discovered by Attila Tomaschek, a staff writer atCNET. Tomaschek observed that DNS requests were not sent to ExpressVPN’s servers when split tunneling was enabled. ExpressVPN successfully reproduced the vulnerability, but only in “Only allow selected apps to use the VPN” split-tunneling mode....
