Pocketpair has announced thatPalworld’s next major update is going to be a crossover withTerraria, which has sold 60 million copies worldwide and is one of the best-selling games of all time.Terrariais a 2011 2D sandbox game featuring combat, exploration, mining, crafting, and building in procedurally generated worlds and dungeons. Support forTerrariawas supposed to end in October 2020, but development has continued since, including anadditional crossover update withDon’t Starve Together. Now, it’s making its way over toPalworld, too.
Posted by the officialPalworldaccount on X,the crossover will be calledPalworld: Tides of Terraria, and it will be released sometime this summer, with more information coming over the next few weeks. Players will be able to catch, train, and fight with creatures fromTerrariaand join them with their roster of Pals. Additionally, new originalPalworldcontent will be added, including new Pals and new islands.

Everything We Know About Palworld’s Tides of Terraria Update
Creatures From Terraria And New Pals Collide
Other than the summer release window and the fact that the crossover will allowPalworldplayers to capture and trainTerrariacreatures in a similar fashion to their Pals, there isn’t a ton of specific information about the crossover at the moment. We do knowPalworldwill be getting additional content as well, like new Pals. This is being described as a"large update,“with Pocketpair saying,“that [it] can be enjoyed by fans of Palworld and Terraria!”
In conjunction with the crossover’s announcement,Palworldis currently on sale onSteamfor25 percent off. One of the biggest previousupdates toPalworldwas the addition of crossplay functionality, and a sale for the game came along with that update as well.

Palworld Is Laying Foundations For More Crossovers
There Is A Lot of Potential For More Collaborations
Palworldis still technically in Early Access and has been since its release in 2024. The2025 roadmap forPalworldconfirmed an “end game” would be coming to the game, as well as theTerrariacollaboration. It doesn’t appear we’ll be getting another crossover in 2025, but if this one is as big as Pocketpair is claiming,it might set a precedent about what to expect from future crossover events. In a game about collecting Pals and training them, the opportunities for collaboration are almost endless.
However,Pocketpair andPalworldare still battling Nintendo and The Pokémon Companyin a legal battle, and recently had to make somedisappointing changes to the gameto avoid court proceedings. This crossover is exciting, and it appears to be a big content update forPalworld, so hopefully, there will be less legal action and more crossover events in the future.
