With season 2 still a few months away from premiering,Percy Jackson and the Olympiansseason 3 is already kicking off production. The Disney+ adaptation of Rick Riordan’s fantasy novels got off to a big start with its first season, garnering a 91% approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and becoming one of the streamer’s most-watched original shows.
Season 2 was officially announced weeks after the season 1 finale, with plans to adaptRiordan’s firstPercy Jacksonsequel novel,The Sea of Monsters. Prior to announcing a December 10 premiere date at San Diego Comic-Con, the streamer also greenlit season 3 to adapt Riordan’s third novel,The Titan’s Curse.

Now, as revealed by the show’s official Instagram account,Percy Jackson and the Olympiansseason 3 is now filming. The announcement came with a photo of star Walker Scobell holding a film clapperboard, seemingly with the logo for the next chapter of the Disney+ show. What The Filming Start Means For Percy Jackson And The Olympians Season 3
Even throughout development and production on the show’s debut outing, Riordan had frequently indicated that he and showrunners Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz were actively mapping out the plans forPercy Jackson and the Olympiansseasons 2and 3. With theseason 3 greenlight coming back in March, filming now kicking off follows a similar timeline to the first season.
On top of the general update about the show’s future, thePercy Jacksonseason 3 set photo also seems to offer the first look at the show’s adaptation of Westover Hall. A key location inThe Titan’s Curse, the setting is part of the book’s opening, in which Percy, Annabeth and Thalia attempt to rescue demigod siblings from the boarding school.

These siblings are Nico and Bianca di Angelo, who were also announced at SDCC to be played by young stars Levi Chrisopulos andMayfair Witches' Olive Abercrombie. With cameras now rolling, if the show follows a similar turnaround window from the first two seasons,Percy Jackson and the Olympiansseason 3 could begin airing by December 2026.
