This year has been really great for soulslike fans, with a ton of incredible new games hitting the scene. The good times continue if you’re a soulslike fan, with one of the greatest games in the genre,Lies of P, getting some incredible news this August.
Lies Of P Is A Must-Play Soulslike
Lies Of P Is A Completely Original IP
Lies of Pishailed among soulslike playersas one of themost original and compelling games in the genre(that wasn’t created by FromSoftware). Its premise is completely unique and built around lore related to the beloved Pinocchio folk story.
You play as a puppet named P who just woke up in the plagued city of Krat and is tasked to find his creator, Geppetto. In a dark Belle‑Époque soulslike world,he fights horrors, unearths secrets, and must lie to survive.Lies of Phas dynamicBloodborneandSekiro-inspired gameplay that soulslike fans absolutely should not sleep on.

Lies of Pis highly regarded among soulslike fans and critics alike, with a Metacritic score of 80 and a fan score of 8.3. Screen RantLies of Previewer Kyle Gratton had this to say about its overall gameplay:
[Lies of P] has the all-important “tough but fair” gameplay soulslikes live and die on, supported by a compelling story and gorgeously rendered world filled with memorable characters.

Even if you aren’t a hugefan of soulslikes,Lies of Pis well worth checking out for itsdynamic world-building, engaging gameplay, and unique narrative that is unlike any other soulslike on the market.
PlayStation Plus Is Slowly Improving
Hopefully Lies Of P Is A Sign Of Better Things To Come
Comparatively speaking, PlayStation Plus doesn’t really hold up all that well against competing services such asXbox’s wildly popular Game Pass, at least not on a consistent basis.Lies of Pis easily the best game to hit the free monthly games list in recent memory, and it’s a really positive sign that PS Plus might slowly be stepping it up bit by bit.
Once you finish the base game, theLies of P: OvertureDLC acts as a prequel and is an excellent expansion to the original game.

There are some great deals on PS Plus, but Game Pass Day-One Releases and countless free games on the service make it a tough competitor. WhileLies of Pis certainly a high-value addition to PS Plus, the service will need to do a lot more to reach the same level as Game Pass.
