It is almost time for the April’s full lineup of free PlayStation Plus games to be announced, and some people think thatCivilization 6will be joining thealready confirmedOddworld: Soulstormfor PS5. However, based on a language barrier, this may not be the case.
Civilization 6originally released in 2016 for the PS4 and other platforms. The latest entry in the long-running turn-based strategy franchise still regularly receives DLC updates, with the most recent introducing the ability togrow a Portuguese civilization led by Joao III. The update also introduced the series' first Zombie Defense mode, in which zombie units can spawn where normal units are killed and create more zombies by infecting other enemy units.

PlayStation fans still don’t know what to expect for PlayStation Plus in April other thanOddworld: Soulstorm.Soulstormwas confirmed for PS Plus during PlayStation’s February State of Play, set to be added on its April 6 release date.Oddworld: Soulstormserves asa remake of 1998’sAbe’s Exodusand a direct sequel toNew ‘n’ Tasty, which is a remake of the first game in the series.
PlayStation has been on a roll so far in 2021 with its free games for PS Plus, with February seeing the PS5 version of the critically acclaimedControl: Ultimate Editionand March gettingFinal Fantasy 7 Remake. PlayStation is also doling out free games outside of its PS Plus subscription with its Play At Home initiative, which gives outpopular games likeRatchet and ClankandHorizon Zero Dawnfor freein order to encourage them to stay home during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. If PlayStation wants to keep its momentum going, perhaps another big PS4 title could be coming to PS Plus in April. This may not beCivilization 6, but if it is some fans will certainly be excited.
Civilization 6is available now for Linux, Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
