Without a doubt, PS4 sales are still doing incredibly well, with Sony Interactive Entertainment having confirmed that the console just recently surpassedmore than 63.3 million units soldsince its launch back in November 2013. Now, the company has decided to further promote thePlayStationsystem by releasing a brand new live-action trailer consisting of several different games that are set to launch for the console soon.
As seen below in thePlayStationStore’s live-action trailer “Descent,” fans are shown what real life versions ofStar Wars Battlefront 2,Call of Duty: WW2, and the PS4-exclusiveGod of Warcould look like if they involved actual people instead of virtual avatars. Although the clip is relatively short, its production value is quite high, with there being an epic set piece involving a Rebel base being attacked by TIE Fighters, one showing a platoon of soldiers pinned down in a destroyed European hotel during World War II, and another featuring the Ghost of Sparta and his son Atreus preparing to go toe-to-toe with some supernatural beings.
For those who may be out of the loop, althoughStar Wars Battlefront 2andCall of Duty: WW2are highlighted alongside the PS4-exclusiveGod of War, the first-person shooters are set to be launched on the platforms of PC and Xbox One as well. However, PlayStation has certain promotional deals in place with the companies behind the titles, hence their inclusion in the above trailer. For instance,Call of Duty: WW2’sDLC will be a timed-exclusive for PS4.
All things considered,God of Waris easily one of the PS4’s most anticipated exclusives, and it should move a solid number of units upon its launch in early 2018, which makes sense as to why it made the cut for the live-action “Descent” trailer. When it comes toStar Wars Battlefront 2andCall of Duty: WW2, though, it will be interesting to see if they will sell better on the PlayStation 4, or if their PC and Xbox One versions are more dominant in the marketplace.
Sony’sPlayStation4 is available now in a standard edition, as the PS4 Slim, and as the PS4 Pro.
