It has been a busy week forPokemon GO,as it has recently addedBattle Girl, Jogger, and Fisherman outfitsto the game. Moreover, dataminers have been hard at work and have revealed a lot about the upcoming update. One of the features in this update seems to be the addition of more Unown to the game.

The Pokedex entry for Unown originally contained the 26 alphabet versions of the Pokémon, but the latest update forPokemon GOexpands that number to 28. This makes it seem highly likely that the question mark and exclamation point versions of the Pokemon will be added to the game. Adding these versions now mimics the core games, in which the original 26 released inPokemon GoldandSilver, and the latter two punctuation-based Unown were added inPokemon RubyandSapphire.

Pokemon GO legendary clues Unown

While previous player speculation suggested that Niantic may release these two versions in such a manner, it is nice to now have some form of confirmation. However, it does not seem likely that Unown are going to be any easier to find. Their rate of appearance is as low as one or two per busy area per day, mostly occurring in the early hours of the day (and this is only speculation). While that is somewhat disappointing, it seems that the rare Gold Unown Badge still only requires 26 Unown forms, meaning the difficulty of obtaining the badge hasn’t really changed.

It also seems this next update unlocks more than just Unown forPokemon GO. Dataminers have found thatmulti-step quests may be introduced into the game, and it would be interesting if one of these quests pertained to the Unown. However, this seems unlikely due to the rarity of the Pokémon, but a special event, such as a Community day, doesn’t seem out of the question.

Moreover, the update doesn’t only contain more Unown and quests. It may also contain Castform (and every weather-related form) as well as anew legendary. With the update set to release soon, it seems likePokemon GOplayers are in for a real treat.

Pokémon GOis available now for Android and iOS devices.
