The2018 Pokemon GO Festis currently underway at Lincoln Park in Chicago, Illinois. Like last year, the event is giving attendees some exclusive content, including the first shot at the mythical Pokemon Celebi, which is now available inPokemon GO.
At the time of this writing, Celebi is only available toPokemon GOplayers who are in attendance at Pokemon GO Fest. These players have access to a new Special Research quest that consists of five steps, as opposed to the eight steps required to catch Mew. It’s unclear if the Celebi Special Research quest will be identical for otherPokemon GOplayers, or if it will have new objectives when it becomes available to the masses.

For those curious as to how Pokemon GO Fest attendees will catch Celebi, or anyone who wants an idea of what to expect from the quest, here are all the steps and objectives:
Taking a look at these objectives, it seems likely that the Celebi Special Research quest will be different for those who aren’t at Pokemon GO Fest. For example, the objective to catch seven Unown seems virtually impossible to complete outside of special events, as Unown remains one of the rarest Pokemon in the game by far.

Besides the Unown objective, the rest of the objectives actually seem fairly simple to complete, which is another reason why the Celebi Special Research will likely be different when the creature is released to the masses. TheSpecial Research quest to catch Mewfeatured a number of time-consuming objectives, whereas it looks like Celebi could easily be caught within just a few hours, especially for anyone at a special event like Pokemon GO Fest.
At this point, it’s unclear when Celebi will be available to everyone, but fans shouldn’t have to wait too much longer.
Pokemon GOis out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
