As part of the manyPokemon GOevents that Niantic is hosting in February, the company decided to let fans choose the February 2020 Community Day Pokemon. Players were able to vote for their choice by completing specific tasks, with the possibilities being Dratini, Machop, Rhyhorn, and Vulpix. The results are in, and Niantic has officially confirmed which Pokemon will be featured as part of thePokemon GOFebruary 2020 Community Day on February 22.
On February 22,Pokemon GOplayers will be able to find a lot more Rhyhorn out in the wild. And like with allPokemon GOCommunity Day events, this will include a much higher chance of catching a shiny Rhyhorn for one’s collection. The increased number of Rhyhorn mean that players who have yet to add Rhydon and Rhyperior to theirPokemon GOcollections will have the best chance of doing so come Community Day.

Most Community Day Pokemon that have been featured inPokemon GOso far have only required Candy to evolve, but getting Rhyperior will be a bit trickier. Not only willPokemon GOplayers need to amass 100 Rhyhorn Candy to get Rhyperior, but they must also get their hands on a Sinnoh Stone. Luckily, it’s much easier to get aSinnoh Stone inPokemon GOnow than when they were originally introduced to the popular mobile game.
Pokemon GOplayers who need to get a Sinnoh Stone to evolve Rhydon into Rhyperior can get one in a few different ways. For example, they can get them through as part of their seventh day Field Research breakthrough reward, or they can get them from battling others in PvP. Alternatively, Sinnoh Stones can be obtained by battling Team GO Rocket Leaders, or as a reward in the newly-addedGO Battle League.
Since thePokemon GORhyhornCommunity Day doesn’t take place until Saturday, February 22, fans have a few weeks to get a Sinnoh Stone ready.
Looking ahead, it will be interesting to see if Niantic allows fans to vote on futureCommunity Day Pokemonas well, or if it will return to featuring starter Pokemon. Fans will have to wait for next month and news on the MarchPokemon GOCommunity Day to be sure.
