Pokemon GOtrainers may feel like they are having déjà vu, but Heatran is once again in the spotlight. After first appearing during mid-December the generation 4 Fire- and Steel-type Legendary was overshadowed by a barrage ofholiday events and special wintery Battle Raids, but the featured Legendary is getting a few more weeks of attention now before disappearing.

Trainers likely have already had a few chances to pick up Heatran inPokemon GO, but the next week will be the last chance to catch a high IV one for the foreseeable future. Heatran holds a fairly important spot in the current Pokemon GO metagame, so be sure to take advantage of this opportunity while it’s available.

Withnew Pokemon arriving inPokemon GOand a bit of a shakeup to the move sets available, it’s a good time to reevaluate the ideal roster for taking Heatran down. Trainers will want to head into the Battle Raid with a group of Best Friends if possible for the additional damage bonus.

One Reddit user put together a helpful graphic outlining the updated best counters and move sets for the Heatran Legendary Battle Raid…

Luckily, the best Heatran counters are mostly Pokemon who have been relevant to other Legendary Battle Raids, so players may already have a powerful roster saved and ready. Garchomp, Rhyperior, and Groudon are all excellent options and well worth spending some Candy and Stardust on to get to the proper level for a competitive Battle Raid.
