Pokemon SwordandPokemon Shieldare still a few months away from release, but the hype machine is already in full effect. After learning game’s new super-sized Dynamax featureat E3 2019, The Pokemon Company is following up withanother trailer full of new footage and information. For players who are still on the fence about which version of the game to pre-order or purchase at launch, some of the new intel includes some version exclusives that may influence your decisions.
Like every version of of the mainline Pokemon franchise,Pokemon SwordandPokemon Shieldare going to include some version specific content that is meant to entice players to trade and interact with other trainers (or purchase two copies of the game). The new trailer, and some updates to the official website, confirm two Pokemon who will be exclusive to each game, as well as a Gym leader who is exclusive to each version.

Because of trading, the decision of which game to purchase isn’t that big of a deal and shoppers shouldn’t stress too much about it. As the release date approaches, it will be interesting to see if the drama surroundingthe lack of a global Pokedexstays strong or if the quality of the game wins Nintendo fans over.
