Throughout 2018, some ofFortnite’s best players continually one-upped each other, raising and re-raising therecords for killsin a single match of battle royale. Amidst this heated competition, certain other players had their sights set on different elimination goals, and a particularly ambitious one was finally reached on Sunday.

“I know 100k elims might not mean anything to some,” HighDistortion wrote on Twitter following his accomplishment. “To me though this is an accumulation of everything I’ve grinded for between my 1st kill all the way 100k.”
The satisfaction that comes with this achievement is something that is undoubtedly understood by other players that are heavily vested inFortnite, and some of them even have their eyes on attaining the same massive kill count. One such player is Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, and theTwitch sensationtook to Twitter with kind words after HighDistortion’s triumph:
There was a time when it appeared that Blevins might actually be the first player to reach this staggering kill count, and, as suggested by this Tweet, he is knocking at the door of the achievement with 98,476 eliminations. Furthermore, HighDistortion has indicated that he looks forward to welcoming Blevins into the “lonely” club of players with 100,000 kills.
Verification of HighDistortion’s accomplishment comes via several third-party sites dedicated toFortnitestat tracking, includingFortniteTracker. These sites offer some other interesting statistics, including that the streamer has participated in 18,101 total matches, with a majority of these beingin squads. This means that HighDistortion averaged over five eliminations per match on the road to 100,000 kills, winning approximately 20% of these matches for good measure.
Without question, hitting this number of eliminations requires relentless dedication and considerable effort. While it is likely that a number of other players will match the achievement throughout 2019, HighDistortion can certainly be satisfied knowing that he was the first person to do so.
