After getting a full reveal last year at E3 2017, Bethesda’s rebooted take onPreywas finally placed in players hands last week thanks to a demo that showed off thefirst hour of the game. Though the game is still a few days from release, players who managed to secure an early copy of the sci-fi shooter have already received an update intended for day one users.

Coming in at 1.30GB, version 1.01 ofPreyintroduces a variety of fixes and improvements to the base game. Notably, the patch addresses enemy AI behavior, preventing some enemies from being able to shoot through walls and others from camping objects the players has turned into. Weapon balancing is also another big part of this update as well as a few fixes to player abilities such as Mimic Matter and Backlash. Sound and visual effects issues noted by players in the demo have also been fixed.

Like Arkane’s previous work withDishonored,Preyoffers an open experience, enabling players to decide how to tackle certain objectives. The recently released hour long demo not only provided a good look at the upcoming game, but it also let players taste a bit of this freedom. Clever players were able to manipulate the game in certain ways toaccess areas of the map not intended to be seenin the demo using a variety of tricks and weapons such as the Gloo Gun. It stands to reason that once the full game arrives, many more tricks and secrets will likely come to light.
