Quantic Dreambroke away from PlayStation in 2019, and now the team is ready to work on more platforms to serve a wider audience. AQuantic Dreamdeveloper recently shared that the team will continue to support the Nintendo Switch moving forward, but past Quantic Dream games will not be coming to the hybrid console any time soon.

After working exclusively with Sony on games from 2006 to 2018, Quantic Dream has finally branched out and is working as a self-publisher. One of the first examples of this is that Quantic Dream was able to bringSea of Solitude: Director’s Cutto the Nintendo Switchearlier this year. While the developer/publisher will likely support the Switch moving forward, it does not have plans to bring its older titles to Nintendo’s popular and record-breaking console.

In speaking with Nintendo Everything, Quantic Dream head of publishing Guillaume de Fondaumiere told the site his team is “ready to explore new territories and take on the challenges.” Everyone on the team is apparently really excited to be bringing its first game to a Nintendo platform withSea of Solitude: Director’s Cut.However, when pressed on the idea of bringing a game likeDetroit: Become Humanto the Switch via a port or through the cloud similar toDoom Eternalon Switch, Fondaumiere said thatDetroit: Become Human,Beyond: Two Souls, andHeavy Rainwill remain PC and PlayStation exclusives for the time being.

Withongoing rumors of a Nintendo Switch Pro, it would make sense that Quantic Dream could port some of its older titles to Nintendo’s hybrid console. The PS4’sDetroit: Become Humanmay require newer tech, but one would assume that PS3 games could work even on the standard Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite. Alas, fans should not hold their breath about those games being on the way. It could be that there are still exclusivity deals behind the scenes, or Quantic Dream may simply want to allocate its resources elsewhere.

Quantic Dream recently opened a new studioin Montreal, and it has revealed that it is working on ambitious new projects. Whether that team is bringing small but impactful games likeSea of Solitudeto the Switch or continuing to pioneer in the narrative space, perhaps bringing those new games to Nintendo’s console in the future, the gaming world always has an eye onQuantic Dreamand its creativity.
