Amazon Prime Day’s two-day sales event is well underway, offering an impressive range of discounts on video games, electronics, and more. But Amazon isn’t alone in taking advantage of the gaming community’s excitement for a great deal. Walmart is trying to capitalize with its own gaming deals including a steep discount forRed Dead Redemption 2.
Walmart is offeringRed Dead Redemption 2on both PS4 and Xbox One for a 50% off sale price of $29.99. Walmart also offers free pick-up from your local store. In order to get free shipping, however, buyers will have to reach a checkout total of $35.
In all fairness, this isn’t the first time thatRed Dead Redemption 2has been discounted to $29.99. Amazon has even discounted the western adventure-shooter to the same price twice in the past month. However, $29.99 is as low as a retail copy of the game has been since its release in October 2018. Potential buyers can feel safe that there aren’t any better opportunities during the Amazon Prime Day sales window.
As for whetherRed Dead Redemption 2will be discounted further during an upcoming sales event, that’s difficult to predict.Black Fridayis months away, which would be the likeliest time another sale would appear. Labor Day in early September also tends to feature some steep discounts as back-to-school sales, but ultimately there’s no way to guess correctly. At $29.99 it’s hard to argue thatRed Dead Redemption 2isn’t worth the price, at the very least.
Red Dead Redemption 2isn’t the only game on sale during Amazon Prime Day, either. Other major discounts include the PS4 exclusive Days Gone for $39.99, thePlayStation Classic console for $19.99, or even a PS4 Pro bundle withMarvel’s Spider-Manand theHorizon Zero Dawn Complete Editionfor $299.99. Computer and laptop buyers should also check out Amazon’s discounts as a broad range of hardware is on sale through July 16.
