Summary
According to its own principal designer,Remnant2will contain so much content that one cannot view it all even over 400 hours in. Combine this with the confirmation of DLC,thanks to the Ultimate Edition, and it seems players will have a lot to do in this game.
First announced late last year,Remnant 2is rapidly is set to continue the third-person shooter and action RPG hybrid gameplay that its predecessor was well received for. It is set to distinguish itself from what came before by upping the procedural generation. WhereasRemnant: From the Ashesonly applied such a feature to its map layouts and enemy placements,Remnant 2will also apply it to its enemy types, level aesthetics, bosses, NPCs, and even the plot and side-story elements that appear mid-gameplay.

As tweeted out byRemnant 2’s principal designer, Ben Cureton, the game will be very exploration oriented and packed with secrets. Like most if not all Xbox and PlayStation games, this one will come with plenty of achievements to hunt down, but Cureton explains that the process of unlocking them is streamlined enough to where it won’t be too tedious. However, he also explained thatRemnant 2’s immersive horror-tinged worldwas designed to remain consistently interesting to fully explore so that players won’t just put the game down once they have all the achievements under their belts. He did not specify whether there will be a true reward for fully exploring everything, or if the secrets will be their own reward.
Commenters appeared excited by this news. In addition to general hype, several early access players vouched for what Cureton said. Some expressed relief at the “player-friendly” approach to achievements, as they didn’t want to have to commit to one game for too long, and a few stated that they hadn’t even fully explored the first game yet. Combine its immense size withthe vastly improved combat systemand new classes to play with, and it’s pretty clear there’s a lot to be excited for withRemnant 2.
Remnant 2will launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on July 23, 2025.
