In just over a month from now, Capcom’s remake ofResident Evil 2will finally hit store shelves. The highly anticipated title has had quite a bit of info surface over the last few weeks, and today, the developers have shed a tiny bit of light on a new area in the game referred to as the Orphanage.
Most of the details about the Orphanage are being kept under wraps, but theResident Evil 2remake team did release a screenshot of the area with a caption that reads, “Raccoon City is larger than you may remember it to be…”. Beyond the single image, it doesn’t appear Capcom wants many people to know who or what players will be encountering there just yet.
Capcom has been playing a lot of its cards close to the vest when it comes to theResident Evil 2remake. For instance, the company has been drip feeding fans with information ever sinceits official E3 2018 gameplay trailerwas released. To celebrate Halloween, Capcom released some brief trailers showing off the Lickers, and a few other promotional pieces thereafter centering around how Claire Redfield will be featured in the game.
One of the more intriguing pieces of information to make the rounds lately is a plannedcrossover withPUBG Mobile. As of now, there aren’t any details on just what this partnership is going to entail, but it’s worth pointing out that a zombies mode was inserted intoPUBGback in the spring. And it doesn’t seem out of the question that Chris and Claire Redfield skins could be made available for the Battle Royale game.
It will also be interesting to see when this crossover event happens and whether it will be used as a vehicle to show off anything more fromResident Evil 2. Another big question surrounds the game, as there is arumored demofor the remake that will supposedly launch later this month. Should this be the case, then perhaps Capcom will give players the chance to see more of the Orphanage through the potential demo before the game’s full launch next year.
Resident Evil 2is scheduled to release on June 07, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
