Taylor Schilling, who stars as the protagonist Piper Chapman inOrange is the New Black, makes a guest appearance inPoker Faceseason 2, episode 11, “Day of the Iguana.” It marks thefirst time sinceOrange is the New Blackconcluded in 2019 that Schilling and Lyonne have appearedin the same TV or film project.
Both actors rose to prominence due to their memorable and moving performances inOrange is the New Black, which was just the second original drama series that Netflix has ever produced after its 2013 political drama House of Cards. The show won4 Emmys, including Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series.
InPoker Faceseason 2, episode 11, Lyonne’s Charlie works with her friend Alex (Patti Harrison) to uncover the murder of a groom at a luxurious wedding.Schilling plays an FBI agent who becomes fed up with Agent Luca Clark, played by Simon Helberg, as they try to track down the killer, played by Justin Theroux.
AlthoughLyonne and Schilling don’t appear on-screen togetherinPoker Faceseason 2, episode 11, it is in fact the first time they’ve worked on the same project since OITNB. Lyonne and Schilling are friends in real life, so it was only a matter of time before another creative collaboration occurred.
