CurrentlyHBO Maxis keeping its lips sealed on plot details butRaised by Wolveswill be be a 10 episode series with philosophical overtones that explore religion’s role in humanity, “As the burgeoning colony of humans threatens to be torn apart by religious differences, the androids learn that controlling the beliefs of humans is a treacherous and difficult task” reads the press release. But the biggest news is that esteemed director Ridley Scott, responsible for some of the greatest-looking films ever shown on screen, will be directing the first two episodes, the first time he’s ever done so for TV. Originally the show was ordered straight to series for TNT until October 2019 when Warner Media announced it would instead be premiering on HBO Max Sept 3 2020.

Going by the trailer,Raised by Wolveslooks to be exploring philosophical questions about what it means to be human in the same vein as Scott’s classicBlade Runnerwhile throwing in some pretty xenomorph-esque creatures into the mix. There’s also a big question mark over whether Amanda Collin’s Mother is a suitable guardian for the colony and what role Father will play.

Raised by Wolveswill be available to stream on HBO Max from Sept 3.
