BothMetal Gear SolidandMetal Gear Solid 2have had PC releases in the past but cannot be found on digital storefronts like Steam or part of GOG. Both classic titles require a bit of back end work to get running on modern PC’s so a modern port that’s widely available would definitely be welcomed by fans who wish to play these modern classics.

Despite theMetal Gear Solidfranchise seemingly ending withMetal Gear Solid 5(and its odd offshootMetal Gear Survive), the series remains popular among fans who want a new sequel or remake of the original. In the wake of Microsoft acquiring ZeniMax Media some fans have called on Sony to make a similar move andpurchase Konami. While there is no indication of Sony making such a drastic move, it would not be the first time Sony has been linked to the publisher.

Earlier in the year rumors suggested thatSony’s PlayStation 5 reveal event would include a newSilent Hilltitle that would be exclusive to the console, the event came and went and despite the rumor persisting, a newSilent Hillwas not featured at Sony’s second PlayStation 5 showcase in mid September. If a newSilent Hilldoes exist, it’s possible the game will be revealed at TGS later this week.
