In the past week, rumors have begun to emerge suggestingOverwatchmay be coming to the Nintendo Switch in the near future, and now, a newOverwatchrumor has appeared claiming that an announcement could be made as early as next week.

The rumor comes courtesy of Emily Rogers and Sabi, two well-known leakers of Nintendo-related information, who teased that a new Nintendo Direct is coming soon. If they’re to be believed, then it’s likely that Nintendo will beairing its next Nintendo Direct next week. Though it has nothing explicitly to do withOverwatch, it helps that signs suggesting the likelihood of a Switch port have been popping up left and right lately.

It started early this week when people spotted an Amazon listing for anOverwatch-themed Switch carrying casefrom accessory producer PowerA. Said listing was removed not long after word first broke. This has left many to assume it wasn’t meant to be unveiled early, reasoning that it’d make no sense to release anOverwatch-themed product for the Switch if the game itself won’t be available too.

Adding fuel to the fire is the speculation that, in addition to a Switch port, there might also be anOverwatchcharacter likeTracer coming toSuper Smash Bros Ultimate. Rumors also claim that it could be D.Va, as one of the DLC characters for Nintendo’s crossover fighting game will be a female character with a “mecha,” but there has been no solid proof of these claims.

Of course, none of this has yet to be confirmed or denied by either Blizzard or Nintendo, so this should all be taken with a grain of salt. While there are certainly signs pointing toward the possibility and Blizzard has created ports for the Switch in the past, it doesn’t guaranteeOverwatchwill get the same treatment. For the time being, anyone hoping for portableOverwatchwill have to wait until an official announcement is made.

Overwatchis currently available for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
