For months, rumors ran wild that Erdrick fromDragon Quest, otherwise known simply as “Hero,” would be coming toSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate. At E3 2019, the rumors were proven true, asDragon Quest’s Herowas confirmed for the crossover fighting game. We haven’t see much of Hero since his debut at E3 2019, but it’s looking like that could change this week.

The official Nintendo France Twitter account recently shared the latest episode of its weeklySuper Smash Bros. Ultimatevideo series. It teased in the tweet of the video that the next episode of the series would feature some news about Hero, with speculation pointing to the announcement of Hero’sSuper Smash Bros. Ultimaterelease date.

After all, we’ve already seen Hero in action, and so it seems like his release date announcement is the next logical step.Dragon Quest’s Hero is expected to release for the game by the end of the summer, and so an official release date announcement could really come any day now.

Of course, it’s possible that people are looking too much into Nintendo France’s tweet. After all, the other Nintendo social media pages haven’t teased anything aboutDragon Quest’s Hero, and so perhaps Nintendo France is just showing off more gameplay footage instead of announcing a release date for the character.

After Hero is added toSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate, we know that the next character in the lineup is none other thanBanjo-Kazooie. The bird and bear duo is on loan from Microsoft, and are expected to release inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimateat some point in the fall. They will be followed by another character who has yet to be announced, with various rumors as to who they could be.

Rumors have pointed to thefinalSuper Smash Bros. UltimateDLC fighter being Waluigi, whereas other rumors claim that it will be Shantae. Other rumors still point to characters like Ryu Hayabusa, Doom Guy, and Steve fromMinecraft, so we’ll just have to wait for Nintendo to officially unveil the next character just to be sure.
