Back in 2021, Samsung began offeringfour yearsof OS updates for all of its new smartphones—a gracious move that increased the lifespan of several devices. And now, it seems that Samsung’s upcoming foldables will come with five years of OS updates, plus seven years of replacement parts availability.

This information comes directly from Koesio, a Samsung partner based in France. Koesio accidentally published its Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5landing pagea bit early. The webpage, which is now unavailable, lists several small details about the phones, including “5 years of Android OS versions” and  “7 years of part availability.” (Thankfully, Koesio’s webpagewas archivedbefore it was taken down.)

Koesio also claims that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5 are “more thin,” “lighter,” and “more resistant” than previous generations. Samsung confirmed a thinner and lighter designin a blog postlast week, though this is the first time we’re hearing about increased durability. Note that the Koesio website has some images of the new phones, which we’ve included in the gallery below.

(I ran Koesio’s website through Google Translate for these screenshots, so the language is a bit awkward.)

Because Koesio is a Samsung partner and dealer, we’re inclined to believe that this information is real. But Koesio may be mistaken. The five-year claim may be a typo, or it may be plainly incorrect. We’ll have to wait for the July 26th Unpacked event for confirmation.

Hopefully, if this information is correct, Samsung will also offer five years of OS updates for its Galaxy S-series devices. While extended software support is pretty cool, it makes more sense with the Galaxy S-series phones, which are much more durable than Samsung’s foldables.

Note that we are not the first to report on this leak. Several users are sharing screenshots of the Koesio website on Twitter, though as far as I can tell, they’re simply copying a post fromEvan Blass. Other websites, includingSammy Fans, have also reported on this story.

Again, Samsung will announce the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5 on June 26th during itsUnpacked event, which you can view live on YouTube or Samsung’s website. You can also save $50 on these devices byreserving themtoday.
