During theNew Game Plus Expo, SNK announced that the new DLC character forSamurai Shodownhails from Ubisoft’sFor Honorand showed a trailer for the fighter. The Warden is the final character that will complete the season two fighter pass and will be available in the game starting on June 24.
Samurai Shodownis an arcade style fighting series that is set during 18th-century Japan. Since 1993, SNK has shown fans pieces of Japanese culture through the fighting character’s interactions in this game series. Even though the game faced controversy at the release of the recent DLC fighterIroha, SNK is trying to move on from that as they introduce the newest fighter toSamurai Shodown.

The Warden is a Vanguard hero from Ubisoft’s multiplayerFor Honortitle, creating a crossover for the two games. This inclusion came as a surprise to many fans. Even though the character was shrouded in mystery, SNK didn’t let on that it would be bringing in the armored fighter as the next DLC.For Honorhas developed into a mainstream team fighting game, so there are a lot of fans who may be drawn toSamurai Shodownnow that the Warden has been integrated into the Japanese game’s content.
The Warden closes out the second season’s fighter pass that included other characters such as the archer Mina, the water ninja Sogetsu, and the blatant fan-service maid Iroha. Among the other fighters in this Japanese fighting game, the armored warrior seems out of place. While SNK lends many of its characters to other game franchises such asTekkenor evenSoul Calibur, the developer doesn’t crossover much content into its own games. Players can fight as Warden in the game on June 24.
The New Game Plus Expo highlighted a lot of new content that will be coming to gamers soon, and fans are excited to play as Warden when he becomes available in the game. The game was also promoted recently on theEpic Games Store, so new gamers who started playing and veterans who have been following the series for a while can enjoy this new fighter to spice up the gameplay.
