Beingone of the few games to last ten years, more than that even, Bethesda’s RPG epic has stood the test of time, thanks largely to the modding community, but also the studio itself continuing to put out new versions as generations move on. Of course, the base game itself is still thoroughly enjoyable, and it’s such a beautiful looking game that it can inspire works of art.
Take Reddit user alqin2s_art as an example. Recently, they uploaded a video which shows the process of them painting a very well-known aspect ofSkyrim. Anyone who’s familiar with the game will notice immediately that it’s High Hrothgar, which stands at the top of the Seven Thousand Steps. Of course, it helps that it also says what it is in the thread’s title, but it’s still an instantly recognizable structure from the game, and the painting itself is stunning. Many people have been praising the artist, with one user asking if it was possible to purchase any of their paintings.

For those who don’t know,High Hrothgar is the home of the Greybeards, the sect ofSkyrimmonks that has dedicated years of study perfecting the Voice, also known as the Thu’un. The Greybeards, as well as the monastery itself, play a vital role in the game’s main quest, calling for the Dragonborn early on to teach them the “Way of the Voice.” The painting done alqin2s_art reflects one of the most notable landmarks throughout the land. Many players no doubt recall the first time they had to climb the Seven Thousand Steps, which apparently does total that number, though most are worn or covered in snow.
There are so manybeautiful locations inSkyrim, such as the city of Markarth or the Sovangarde plain of existence, that it’s hardly surprising the game has inspired so many amazing paintings and other works of art. The fan community is awash with so many talented individuals who are more than keen to display their incredible artistry.
DespiteSkyrimbeing as old as it is, it was stillone of the highest-selling games of May, perhaps owing to the sheer number of ports that have come out over the years. Naturally, after more than a decade, many fans are keen to know what’s happening withThe Elder Scrolls 6. Sadly, it looks as though it could be a long time before that sees the light of day.
