Sonic Dash, Sega Hardlight’s endless runner game that features everyone’s favorite speed-loving hedgehog, has accrued a staggering $10.8 million based off 290.7 million downloads. This total revenue outperforms the amount earned by Sonic the Hedgehog’s past five mobile releases combined.
According to Sensor Tower data,Sonic Forces,Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom,Sonic Jump Fever,Sonic Runners,andSonic at the Olympic Gamesearned a combined $8.7 million over the past six years. BesidesSonic Dash,Sonic Forceshas been installed by 46.1 million people worldwide and has earned $5 million. The game was recently revealed asPS Plus' second most downloaded game.Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boomfollows at $2.4 million based on 102.6 downloads.Sonic Jump Fevermade $600,000 off 28.3 million downloads.

Next up isSonic Runners, which was downloaded 9.38 million times and has made $526,000. Finally,Sonic at the Olympic Gamestakes fifth place with 3.3 million installs and $200,000 in revenue. It’s worth noting, however, thatSonic at the Olympic Gamesis the newest release out of the games analyzed, and so the longevity compared toSonic Dashisn’t clear yet. Additionally,Sonic Racinglaunched on theApple Arcade subscription-based serviceand therefore the sales data is not as widely available.
Sega’s long-standing mascot is primed to enjoy his 30th anniversary next year. With Sega’s recentcommitment to producing better 2D and 3D Sonic gamesgoing forward, fans can likely expect new games featuring the blue hedgehog to be released on both mobile platforms and consoles in celebration of the milestone achievement.
